Saturn Basics: The Planet.

Saturn, the second largest body in our solar system, is a gas Giant world that is ruled by storm and ravaging winds that reach up to 1118mph and have caused the planet to erupt six times since their discovery in 1876. The storms are caused by the alchemy within its atmosphere which mainly consists of a hydrogen and helium mixture that suppresses the moisture within it creating hot and cold gases to rise and fall until they meet the tipping point exploding with violent storms that have often been brimming for decades.

Simply put, the hydrogen and helium roam freely as air does on our Earth, (more freely in fact as they are much less dense in substance,) stirring the suppressed waters beneath which struggle to escape as they can not mix with the chemical atmosphere. Saturn gains its (little,) warmth, from a staggeringly hot core (of up to 11,700c,) which can not reach its icy mass and circumference due to the hydrogen mixture floating above (hence the circumference being icy indeed with a low temperature of -178c.)

When the moisture finally bursts forth due to the pressure created by the freezing exterior forcing the cold atmosphere inwards towards its brimming hot core we see some tremendous effects as they fight for dominance in Saturns troposphere. Already within the constitution of our grand Saturn we see correlation with the grand internal alchemy within ourselves.

Humanity has been aware of the planet Saturn since prehistoric times with the earliest recorded history written on a Sumerian cuneiform tablet that dates back to possibly 3500bc. The Sumerians called the planet Ninurta whilst the ancient Greeks called him Phainon, he has been known by many names some well known such as Kronos, and some less known such as Helios (Plato: Timaeus) … Helios, who curiously became our sun.

There are many myths within the ancient texts that to and fro between the power of Saturn and the Sun “Of the Babylonian star worshippers,” Diodorus writes, “To the one they call Saturn they give the special name the sun star.” Other notable historians of antiquity that add fuel to Saturns star fire include Nonnosus (Greek,) and Hyginus (Roman.)

It has been debated upon, (in mainstream scientific circles,) whether our ringed Giant was once a star indeed. In scientific terms, the star we call the Sun is a yellow dwarf star, were as the debate with Saturn is whether or not he was once a brown dwarf star and there is much to support this theory within the chemical structure of the planet.

A brown dwarf is often cited as a failed star due to it not being able to muster the heat to explode into a full on furious, cataclysmic and inextinguishable star. The lightening emissions from the stormy planet of today are still around 1,000 times more powerful than anything seen on Earth.

Saturn is around 9 times the size of Earth and is six planets far from the sun, (its core creates twice the heat than receives from the sun.) Saturn has 53 confirmed moons (some of them fascinating themselves and each has a tale to tell,) the first to be discovered and named is Titan who is larger than the planet Mercury and dwarf planet Pluto, and is the second largest moon in our solar system.

They say that it has 29 moons waiting in the cold dark of Saturns space that are yet to be discovered and named (NASA works in mysterious ways.) Saturn has the shortest day in our solar system consisting of 10.7 human hours, yet a complete solar orbit takes 29.4 Earthly years to complete, he is currently coming into an alignment amongst his fellow gods in a most meaningful way, in which we shall explore in the proper forum of the Almanach of course.

Well, above we have the basics, if you managed to stay alert all the way through to this paragraph, then I would invite the soul seekers amongst you to embrace the first paragraphs again and be inspired towards the meditation of the prana within using Saturns chemistry to inspire.

Deep thought upon the alchemy of Saturns storms brings an understanding of the power that can be emitted when the opposing forces break through and combine. Saturns substance is independent, he does not rely on an external and powerful sun.

Saturns immense and dramatic energy is created when his own internal heat bursts forth through his dark watery element causing chaos amonsgt his heaven, directed now only by the wind he contains. Through Saturns independent star, the result of his legendary storm is power.
